Contact Import Field Reference

Reference for all supported fields when importing contacts into ARTERNAL, with details on required and optional columns.

Supported Fields

address_label Address Label** Defaults to “Primary” if not filled
assigned_to_user Assigned to User Must be the email of an existing ARTERNAL user
assigned_to_list Assigned to List Name of an existing contact list in ARTERNAL
company Company Text field
contact_type Contact Type** Defaults to Individual. Other options: company, joint account, trust foundation
first_name First Name Text field
last_name Last Name Text field
document_url Document URL Uploads a document to the contact. Must be a valid URL with http/https (e.g. https://pdfobject.com/pdf/sample.pdf)
email Email Text field
email_label Email Label** Defaults to “Primary” if not filled
secondary email Secondary Email Text field
secondary email label Secondary Email Label** Text field
honorific Honorific** Text field
lead_status Lead Status Defaults to Cold if not specified
middle_name Middle Name Text field

Field Reference for “**” Fields

If you aren’t sure what to enter for the fields marked with an asterisk (**), use the options and examples below:

Address Label**

Defaults to Primary if not specified.

Contact Type**

Email Label**

Defaults to Primary if not specified.

Honorific**

It will be blank if nothing is entered and imported.

Example:

The Honorific field is also a caption formatter that can be included in email greetings. You can manage these settings under Settings > Email.

Example:

If the contact’s honorific is set to Ms., in your email greeting, it will display as:

"Hi Ms. Jade,"

Phone Label**

Defaults to Primary if not specified.
