How to Remove a Contact from a Static List
1. Open the Contact’s Profile
Navigate to the contact you want to update.
2. Tap “Found in X Static Lists”
This link shows how many Static Lists the contact currently belongs to.
3. Remove the Contact from a List
On the Static Lists page, you’ll see each list along with a small “×” icon.
Tap “×” next to the list you’d like to remove them from.
The contact is removed instantly — no extra confirmation steps or navigation needed.
That’s it!
This improvement gives you a faster, more intuitive way to keep your lists organized without leaving the contact’s profile.
❓ FAQs
Q: Can I remove a contact from multiple lists at once?
A: No — contacts must be removed from Static Lists one at a time using the “×” next to each list name.
Q: Does this work for Live Lists?
A: No. Live Lists are dynamic and update automatically based on filters, so contacts cannot be manually added or removed.
Q: Will removing a contact from a list delete the list itself?
A: No — removing a contact only removes them from the list. The Static List remains available for future use.
Q: Can I undo removing someone from a list?
A: Not automatically. If you remove a contact by mistake, you'll need to add them back.
Q: Will this update affect SmartMail segments or automations?
If a contact is removed after the Static List has already been added to a SmartMail draft, they will still appear in the recipients list on the left-hand side. However, if the Static List is added to SmartMail after the contact has been removed from it, the contact will not appear as a recipient.
Q: Does this change anything about how lists are created or managed?
A: No — this improvement only adds the ability to remove contacts directly from their profile. All other list functionality remains the same.
