# Custom Report vs. Preset Report

## **Preset Reports**  
- **Preset reports** have a predetermined set of filters and sorting methods applied and act as an entry point to creating a **Custom report**. They will automatically update over time if any of the information in the report is changed in another part of ARTERNAL.

- You can also select **Favorites by clicking the star button** which is useful for frequently referenced reports.

## **Custom Reports**  
- **Custom reports** are created by making custom changes in a preset report, once you have started to customize your report the **"Save as Custom" button** will appear. The report will then also be shown in the **Custom Reports** tab on the right-hand side. These are dynamic reports as well so if the data changes in a row it will update within the report. If you would like to capture static information from **Custom or Preset reports** you will want to download that report as a .CSV file and save it elsewhere.
